Our Attorneys

Our trial attorneys, Liz Cloutier and Jean Brandl, have over 43 years of combined legal experience. Liz Cloutier has practiced in Minnesota since 1988, working in partnership with her father until his retirement in November 2007. Liz has handled a huge variety and a countless number of of family law, personal injury, employment law and other legal matters during her lengthy career. She has twice been voted "Favorite Female Attorney" by the readers of Minnesota Women's Press, Inc.

Jean Brandl practiced in California for 16 years as a criminal attorney before coming to Minnesota in 2007 to join forces with Liz. She was given the Special Award for Courageous and Zealous Advocacy in 2002 by the San Diego Criminal Defense Bar Association. She currently handles both criminal and civil litigation with a focus on criminal law.  She recently won a case in the Minnesota Appellate Court, freeing her client from prison, and went on to win the jury trial.  Jean also provides thorough and tailored representation to clients who are being discriminated against in employment, and GLBT clients who are seeking a second parent adoption or estate planning. She understands that these sometimes-complicated matters take experience and compassion, but also a willingness to fight for her client's rights.
